Rockland-Hanson Rotary club is an all inclusive club with a relatively young and dynamic membership. We raise funds throughout the year to help specific causes, both locally and farther afield, and to keep our accounts robust enough to donate to those in need. Through working with other groups we can maximize our effectiveness, donating time, talent and prior knowledge. We donate to the food pantries of both Hanson and Rockland, and offer scholarships to seniors in Whitman-Hanson, Rockland, South Shore Vo-Tech. The scholarships are granted for college and can also be awarded to the buying of tools of the trade for those entering a trade instead.
We host a variety of events annually including the much anticipated Carolyn Ready Golf Tournament. Monthly we donate to the food pantries in both Rockland and Hanson, as well as to the Holiday Magic and Community Christmas funds. For several years now we have made lunch each month for the patrons of Father Bill's Mainspring. In the past we have assisted the Vo-tech parents group, WH Band Association, Rockland playground group, Rockland and Whitman Hanson Best Buddies, and Rockland Boy Scouts, to help raise much needed funds. We have hosted meat raffles, brewfests, comedy nights, and mystery nights. As well as occasional scratch ticket raffles.
Membership funds also support the work of the Rotary Foundation that is achieving great things around the globe. Being part of a group that is represented in all but two countries in the whole world is a wonderful thing. Each club has its own focus but all exist for the good of the local communities.
Looking to the future we would love to welcome new members. Get in touch, we would love to hear your thoughts.
