Lis Modestino came to talk to the club on October 15. We had partially sponsored her trip to Uganda to do community service work with her department at Simmons College.

Lis wanted to tell us about what she had done while she was in Africa last summer, and to say thanks for our help. She described her work with children and families affected by HIV Aids. She told us of stories she heard from the Invisible Children who had been forced into the nightmares of warfare. She told us of how grateful the children were for every little thing they received. She told us how much our sponsorship had meant to her. We are the ones who are grateful to Lis, for being the kind of person who doesn't only talk about making the world a more caring place. She did it and will continue to do more. Our club members all want to say Thank You Lis Modestino, for bringing the spirit of Rotary to our international community. Your actions make are what our work is all about.
